Bugatti Veyron Villa d'Este

To mark the Bugatti centenary in 2009, the manufacturer unveiled four special editions of the Veyron 16.4 at Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza in September of that year. These cars recalled the prestigious racing history of the tradition-steeped brand and celebrated one of its most successful models, the Type 35. Just as in Ettore Bugatti’s day, the four vehicles were presented in the livery of the countries that competed in motorsports at that time – blue for France, red for Italy, green for Britain and white for Germany.

Each of the four special editions was modelled on a historic Grand Prix Bugatti. These four historic race cars achieved countless victories during the 1920s and 1930s, with world-famous racing drivers at the wheel. They are named after four such racing legends: Jean-Pierre Wimille (blue), Achille Varzi (red), Malcolm Campbell (green) and Hermann zu Leiningen (white). The historic material concept with body elements in uncoated, polished aluminium and other parts painted in a single tone conveys the discreet, elegant spirit of the brand.

The long Bugatti tradition is also reflected in the interior fittings, which were matched to each car’s respective historic model. The result bridges the gap between the racing victories of the past and the brand’s successful revival in the present. The model in green was ordered in 2009 and registered on 1st January 2010. This Bugatti Veyron has a works mileage of only 1,615 km, i.e. for testing and subsequent delivery from Molsheim in France to London.

As a special edition, it comes with polished aluminium attachments and green paintwork, which is, of course, immaculate. The interior features factory black leather hides and machine-turned aluminium on the centre console. It is the sole Bugatti from the Villa D’Este Edition to have only delivery kilometres on the clock.
